- Morgan played linebacker for the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent.
- He previously coached at Illinois and with the New York Giants.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have bolstered Liam Coen's coaching team for the 2026-27 season by hiring Grant Morgan as a defensive assistant. This move fills the last remaining position on the Jaguars' staff.
Morgan, who previously played linebacker for the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2022, brings valuable experience. He earned All-SEC and All-American honors during his collegiate career at Arkansas.
After his playing days, Morgan transitioned to coaching. He served as a graduate assistant and assistant linebackers coach at Illinois before joining the NFL ranks as a defensive assistant for the New York Giants in 2025.
His arrival signifies the third coaching change this offseason for the Jaguars, following the additions of running game coordinator Brian Picucci and defensive passing game coordinator Mathieu Araujo. Morgan will work under Coen and defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile.
The Jaguars are looking to improve upon their 2025 performance, which saw them win the AFC South and reach the Wild Card round. The team's defense showed significant improvement last season, transforming from one of the league's worst in 2024 to a top-12 unit.
