Jaguars CB Battle: Who Will Make the Cut?
8 Jul
Summary
- Cornerback roster spots are fiercely contested.
- Muhammad and Braswell are favorites for final roles.
- Travis Hunter may play both ways for added depth.

As the Jacksonville Jaguars approach training camp, the cornerback position presents one of the most compelling battles for remaining roster spots. While the top of the depth chart appears settled with expected starters Travis Hunter and Montaric Brown on the outside, Jourdan Lewis in the nickel, and Jarrian Jones as the primary backup, the final one or two spots are very much up for grabs. Teams typically carry five or six cornerbacks, leaving room for competition.
During recent offseason programs, second-year UDFA Jabbar Muhammad emerged as a standout performer, earning praise from head coach Liam Coen and assistant coach Anthony Campanile. Christian Braswell is also a strong contender, having played significant snaps in the latter half of last season. While these two are favored, undrafted free agent Preston Hodge has also shown promise, making plays during OTAs. The Jaguars may opt to keep six cornerbacks, potentially utilizing Travis Hunter's ability to play both offense and defense for added depth.
