Detroit Tigers pitcher Jackson Jobe has returned to the mound for his first competitive rehab start since undergoing Tommy John surgery. The outing took place on Tuesday, July 7, with the Low-A Lakeland affiliate against the Dunedin Blue Jays in Dunedin, Florida.
Jobe, who had been sidelined since June 2025, demonstrated impressive velocity, with his four-seam fastball reaching 100 mph. In his brief appearance, he pitched 1⅓ innings, throwing 32 pitches and striking out one of the six batters he faced. He allowed one run on two hits during his time on the mound.
Drafted third overall in 2021, Jobe's rookie season was cut short by the elbow surgery. He is expected to undergo an extensive rehabilitation period to ensure a full recovery before rejoining the major league team. His catcher for this start was fellow Tigers prospect Josue Briceño.
