Indiana State University's Hulman Center is set to undergo significant improvements following a $1 million donation from longtime supporters Troy and Melissa Woodruff. The university's board of trustees recently approved the naming of the new Woodruff Sycamore Loft in recognition of this substantial gift.
The Woodruff Sycamore Loft will introduce a premium hospitality space, featuring six private loge boxes that can each accommodate up to 12 guests. This new area is expected to enhance the fan experience and generate revenue for Indiana State Athletics student-athletes.
In addition to the loft, the Woodruffs' contribution will fund crucial renovations for both the men's and women's basketball locker rooms. Construction for these projects is scheduled to commence this month, with completion anticipated by early November.
Troy Woodruff, an ISU alumnus and current trustee, expressed his gratitude, stating he feels blessed to support an iconic arena that holds personal meaning for him and his wife, Melissa. He hopes the upgrades will boost fan engagement for the Sycamores.
The Woodruffs have a history of significant philanthropy at Indiana State, with previous investments in areas such as cancer research and academic facilities. University President Mike Godard and Athletic Director Nathan Christensen both lauded the donation for strengthening Hulman Center and supporting student-athletes.
