Kilmarnock centre-half Corrie Ndaba is close to finalizing a transfer to Italian Serie A club Lecce. Lecce announced Ndaba's arrival on Saturday, posting a photograph of the 25-year-old Irishman with a club scarf and stating he had come for a medical examination, which will be completed on Monday.
Ndaba's absence from Kilmarnock's recent 4-0 victory over East Fife in the Premier Sports Cup group stage was likely due to the impending transfer. The defender signed a three-year contract with the Scottish Premiership club last summer after leaving Ipswich Town, where he had spent time on loan at Kilmarnock the previous season.
Ndaba made 39 appearances, mostly as a starter, for Kilmarnock last season as they finished ninth in the Scottish top flight. Now he appears set to continue his career in Italy with Lecce, who have just brought back Eusebio Di Francesco as their head coach after the club narrowly avoided relegation from Serie A last season.
