IPL Ticket Fraud: Valid Holders Denied Entry
9 Apr
Summary
- DDCA director alleged duplicate tickets barred entry for valid ticket holders.
- Guests with valid tickets were denied access to hospitality sections.
- DDCA secretary cited a technical glitch as the reason for denial.

A DDCA director has lodged a complaint alleging that valid ticket holders are being denied access to IPL matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium due to the fraudulent use of duplicate tickets by unauthorized individuals. The director reported that he and his guests were refused entry to the hospitality area for a Delhi Capitals vs. Mumbai Indians match on April 4, despite possessing valid tickets. He discovered that his complimentary tickets had already been scanned and used by others.
Despite the director bringing this alleged fraud to the attention of DDCA's CFO and President, he received no satisfactory explanation. The DDCA secretary, Ashok Sharma, has refuted the fraud claims, stating that the issue was a 'technical issue' where the scanner failed to read the ticket barcodes. He suggested that the tickets were not duplicated but rather that a scanner malfunction prevented entry.
