Iowa's Class 2A Quarterbacks Poised for Breakout Seasons

As the 2025 Iowa high school football season approaches, the Class 2A field is shaping up to be a showcase of exceptional quarterback talent. With the move away from the larger 5A classification, these smaller schools are seeing an influx of versatile athletes who can utilize both their passing and running abilities to dominate defenses.

The 2A group is as deep and talented as ever, with several seniors and juniors set to lead their teams in the upcoming campaign. Brock Badding of Carroll Kuemper, for instance, piled up over 2,100 yards in the air and 19 touchdowns last season, while Talan Fuson of Woodward-Granger proved to be a top athlete, running for 902 yards and 13 touchdowns while also completing 64% of his passes for 1,856 yards and 24 scores.

Other standouts include Cal Bonifas of Bellevue, who completed 66% of his passes for 1,928 yards and 17 touchdowns, and Dylan Bosma of Unity Christian, one of the top athletes in the state with 1,340 yards and 11 touchdowns. The junior class is also well-represented, with players like Jayden Daale of Central Lyon/George-Little Rock and Brody Kaestner of Alburnett poised to make their mark.
