This stalemate has led Inter to explore alternative midfield targets. Niccolo Pisilli of Roma has emerged as the next player on Inter's radar. He is also valued around €25 million, the same figure Inter had proposed for Jones.
Pisilli currently commands a significantly lower salary than Jones, approximately €2.5 million per season including bonuses. The potential transfer could progress rapidly if Roma agrees to a sale. The Giallorossi are under pressure to generate funds through player sales before June 30 to meet UEFA's financial fair play settlement agreement requirements.
Any transfer fee generated from Pisilli, an academy product, would be recorded as pure capital gain for Roma. Inter previously missed out on signings Marco Palestra and Nico Paz.
