Inter Milan has reportedly submitted a formal offer of €4.2 million for Mechelen's promising teenager, Moncef Zekri. This move is part of a larger strategy by manager Cristian Chivu to rejuvenate the squad, with several veteran players set to leave at the season's end.
The departure of experienced players like Matteo Darmian creates a need for new talent, particularly in wingback positions. Inter is actively seeking successors for both Darmian and Denzel Dumfries. Zekri, a 17-year-old Moroccan prodigy, has become a key target for the Serie A leaders.
Inter's offer includes potential installment payments and a 10% sell-on clause, with the possibility of loaning Zekri back to Mechelen for the upcoming season. However, Inter faces competition from Premier League club Brentford, which is also showing strong interest in the young player.
