Injured Husky Star Sidelined for Crucial Matchup
13 Nov
Summary
- Bryson Tucker, the Huskies' top scorer, out with ankle injury
- Desmond Claude, another key player, remains questionable to play
- Huskies dealing with a flurry of injuries to key players

As the University of Washington basketball team prepares for their upcoming game against Washington State on November 13, 2025, they will be without one of their top players, Bryson Tucker. The 6-foot-7 forward, who has been the Huskies' best outside shooter over their first three games, suffered an ankle sprain during their 78-69 loss to Baylor last Sunday.
Head coach Danny Sprinkle confirmed that Tucker "rolled his ankle pretty good" and will not be available for the Friday night matchup. This is the latest blow to a Huskies squad that has been dealing with a flurry of injuries for well over a month now.
Adding to their woes, the Huskies are also uncertain about the status of Desmond Claude, a 6-foot-6 guard who transferred from USC. Claude, one of the Big Ten's top scorers last season, has not yet played for the Huskies (2-1) and remains questionable to take the court against the Cougars (1-2). Sprinkle stated that Claude is "progressing" but still has not participated in any contact drills, so his availability will likely be a game-time decision.
The Huskies could have certainly used Claude's scoring prowess against Baylor, as he averaged 15.8 points per game last season, ranking him 12th in the Big Ten. With Tucker and potentially Claude sidelined, the Huskies will need to rely on their remaining healthy players to step up and secure a crucial victory against their in-state rivals.
