This event will place India among a select group of nations globally to host the IRONMAN 5i50 series, a popular Olympic-distance triathlon format. Participants will compete in a 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycle, and 10 km run.
In conjunction with the triathlon, the DuYoska Duathlon will also make its debut, offering 'run-cycle-run' races in both short and standard distances. This multisport event is designed to encourage emerging athletes and will feature various race categories, including an IRONKIDS competition for younger participants. The inaugural edition is anticipating robust participation, with hundreds of athletes already registered.
The successful organization of these events has been supported by the Tamil Nadu government, aiming to establish Chennai as an annual destination for international endurance sports. The DuYoska Duathlon will commence at MGM Beach Resort, followed by the IRONMAN 5i50 Triathlon at Kovalam Beach, promising an exciting day of athletic competition.
