Summary
- India's 15-member squad for the 2025 Asia Cup announced
- Suryakumar Yadav named captain, Shubman Gill appointed vice-captain
- Players allowed to travel from their respective cities for logistical convenience

On August 28, 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member squad that will represent India in the upcoming 2025 Asia Cup. The tournament is scheduled to commence on September 9 in Dubai.
Notably, the team will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, with Shubman Gill returning to the fold as the vice-captain. This marks a significant change from the usual practice of players assembling in Mumbai before departing for a tournament. Instead, the squad members will be permitted to travel to Dubai directly from their respective cities, a decision made to ensure logistical convenience.
"All the players will arrive in Dubai by the evening of September 4, and the first nets session will be held on September 5 at the ICC Academy," a senior BCCI official stated. The official further explained that asking some players to first come to Mumbai and then fly to Dubai "doesn't make sense" given the short duration of the flight to Dubai compared to other international destinations.

The 2025 Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format, with India's last white-ball assignment being the 2025 Champions Trophy, which they won by defeating New Zealand. The team's opening match in the upcoming tournament will be against hosts UAE on September 10, followed by matches against Pakistan on September 14 and Oman on September 19.
