On Monday, November 16, 2025, Indian shooters Anuya Prasad and Pranjali Prashant Dhumal dominated the 10m Air Pistol event at the 25th Summer Deaflympics in Tokyo, securing a 1-2 finish for the country.

In the men's event, Abhinav Deshwal won the silver medal, equalling the world and Deaflympics qualification record with a score of 576. The other Indian in the fray, Rudar Vinod Kumar, finished 12th in the qualification round.

The impressive performance by the Indian shooters has added seven medals to the country's tally after just two days of competition at the Deaflympics. The Air Rifle Mixed Teams event is scheduled for tomorrow, and India will be looking to add more medals to their growing collection.
