FanCode, a sports media platform, has secured the domestic streaming rights for a three-match men's Twenty20 international cricket series between India and Afghanistan. The matches are scheduled to be held in Delhi on September 13, 15, and 17. For the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), this series is considered a 'home' event, though they frequently play cricket outside their native country.
The streaming will be accessible via the FanCode app across web, mobile, and connected TVs. Additionally, TV distribution partners include Jio TV/Jio TV+, Amazon Prime, and Tata Play Binge, among others. This acquisition follows FanCode's recent broadcast of India's T20 tour of Zimbabwe and expands their cricket portfolio, which includes tie-ups with the West Indies, Ireland, and Zimbabwe cricket governing bodies, as well as the International Cricket Council.
Naseeb Khan, CEO of the ACB, expressed enthusiasm about reaching Indian fans through FanCode's digital platform. Separately, DAZN has acquired UK broadcast rights for a Test series between Australia and Bangladesh, marking its first international cricket coverage. The long-term UK rights for Cricket Australia matches remain unsold.
