India's Hockey Squad for Asian Games Revealed

India's quest to defend its continental hockey title and secure another strong performance at the 2026 Asian Games is set to begin with the announcement of the 20-member Indian Men's Hockey Team. This squad has been selected for the prestigious event scheduled to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, 2026.

Leading the charge will be star defender and drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh, who continues his captaincy. Complementing his leadership, India's most-capped player, veteran midfielder Manpreet Singh, will provide crucial experience. The selected team effectively merges established players with exciting emerging talent, indicating a strategic approach for the competition.

The goalkeeping responsibilities fall to Mohith HS and Suraj Karkera. The defensive line is fortified by Jarmanpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit, and Yashdeep Siwach. The midfield will be orchestrated by Rajinder Singh, Raj Kumar Pal, Hardik Singh, Manpreet Singh, Nilakanta Sharma, and Vivek Sagar Prasad.
