Former Liverpool and Wales striker Ian Rush has been released from the hospital where he spent two days in intensive care last week. Admitted due to severe flu and breathing difficulties, Rush responded positively to treatment and was discharged on Monday.
The 64-year-old is now understood to be recovering well at home. Rush holds the record as Liverpool's all-time leading goalscorer, having netted 346 goals in 660 appearances across two spells with the club. He also won numerous titles, including five First Division titles and two European Cups.
Beyond his illustrious career with Liverpool, Rush also played for Juventus, Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield United, Wrexham, and Sydney Olympic before retiring in 2000. He earned 73 caps for Wales.
