Hobart Hurricanes have surged back to the summit of the Women's Big Bash League, thanks to a dominant seven-wicket triumph over Perth Scorchers. England stars Nat Sciver-Brunt and Danni Wyatt-Hodge were instrumental, both hitting half-centuries in a decisive partnership that steered the Hurricanes towards their target of 187.
Sciver-Brunt led the charge with a blistering 81 off 48 balls, while Wyatt-Hodge contributed a valuable 55 from 38 deliveries. Their stand of 135 laid the foundation for victory, ensuring the Hurricanes moved one point clear of the Melbourne Stars at the top of the table.
Earlier, the Perth Scorchers had posted a competitive 186-5, anchored by Beth Mooney's 75. However, the Hurricanes' exceptional chase, rounded off by Nicola Carey and Elyse Villani, proved too strong, securing the win with five balls to spare and highlighting their championship aspirations.
