Houston Dynamo Lands Boca Juniors Defender

Houston Dynamo announced the acquisition of veteran defender Marcelo Saracchi from Argentina's Boca Juniors on Tuesday. The 28-year-old Uruguayan international has committed to the team through the 2028-29 MLS season, with club options extending through 2030-31. Saracchi is described as a balanced left back capable of contributing to all phases of play.

Throughout his career, Saracchi has amassed 12 goals and 25 assists in 272 appearances across top-flight leagues in Spain, Germany, Turkey, Scotland, and Argentina. He has participated in prestigious tournaments such as the Copa Libertadores and UEFA Champions League, securing six trophies. Saracchi most recently completed a loan spell with Celtic FC, where he recorded one goal and two assists in 27 appearances. He previously played for Boca Juniors, contributing four goals and five assists in 52 games after joining in August 2023. Saracchi has also earned 11 caps for the Uruguay national team.
