Hillsborough Leisure Centre is undergoing a substantial enhancement with a £500,000 investment from Everyone Active, in partnership with Sheffield City Council. This significant capital injection aims to modernize the facilities and better serve the local community.
The improvements will focus on the center's gym, including decoration, upgrades to free weight areas, and the introduction of a dedicated recovery space. Furthermore, state-of-the-art resistance training equipment, such as new Olympic benches, dumbbells up to 60kg, and premium plate-loaded machines, will be installed.
This investment follows similar large-scale refurbishment projects at The English Institute of Sport Sheffield and Concord Sports Centre, which collectively received £750,000. Additionally, Heeley Pool and Gym benefited from a £110,000 gym makeover earlier this year.
