Historically, September at Hillcrest sees natural water temperatures between 20°C and 22°C. The metro has also invested approximately R376,000 in various off-season maintenance tasks, including electrical work, firefighting equipment upkeep, and pump repairs, ensuring the facility's overall readiness.
Further work on the pool's grandstand is scheduled and expected to take four to eight weeks. Oversight visits to municipal pools, starting with Hillcrest, are underway to assess readiness for the upcoming swimming season.
