Grounds manager Liam Markie expressed confidence in the dome's effectiveness, stating they should be "absolutely fine for Sunday." He noted that the club's standard frost sheets are insufficient for temperatures below minus three or four degrees Celsius, especially with low daytime highs. The dome is a temporary measure, on loan from the English Football League, and will be removed Sunday morning.
Elsewhere, the harsh weather has already led to postponements. Boreham Wood's top-of-the-table National League fixture against York City, and the fifth-tier match between Scunthorpe United and Sutton United, have both been called off due to frozen pitches. The Met Office has issued significant amber and yellow weather warnings for snow and ice across the UK.
