15 Aug
Summary
- Manager Vrancken demands consistent effort and team spirit.
- Hearts secured their first win against Dundee United.
- Upcoming League Cup tie against Inverness is crucial.
Hearts manager Wouter Vrancken has asserted that the team "will not back down" following their first victory of the season. The new boss experienced a difficult initial period, with three consecutive competitive losses.
However, the team has since secured a 4-0 win in the Scottish Premiership and earned a draw in their Europa League qualifier. This momentum is now set to be tested in the League Cup last 16 against Inverness, a stage where they exited last season.
Vrancken stressed that players must earn their place through consistent performance in both matches and training sessions. He also noted the potential impact of minor injuries on team selection but reiterated the need for persistent effort and a unified team spirit in all future fixtures, regardless of the opponent.
