On October 15, 2022, the Harding Bisons, the No. 2 team in NCAA Division II, faced off against the Henderson State Reddies in a stormy matchup. Despite a rough first half, the Bisons rallied in the second half to secure a convincing 35-10 victory.
The game was delayed twice due to inclement weather, but that did not stop Harding junior Andrew Miller from delivering a record-breaking performance. Miller rushed for 298 yards on 21 carries and scored 4 touchdowns, breaking the program's single-game rushing record. The Bisons' defense also played a crucial role, forcing 5 turnovers to stifle the Reddies' offense.
Harding struggled in the first half, generating just 26 rushing yards and falling behind 3-0. However, the Bisons' defense kept them in the game, with 3 of Henderson State's 4 first-half turnovers being fumbles. Miller's 3-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter gave Harding a 7-3 lead at halftime.
The Bisons came out firing in the second half, with Miller scoring on a 75-yard touchdown run on the first play of the third quarter. He added two more scores, and Braden Jay also found the end zone to help Harding pull away for the 35-10 victory. The win keeps the Bisons undefeated at 7-0 on the season.
