Hampshire County Cricket Club has secured the services of South African fast bowler Codi Yusuf for the start of the County Championship season.
This signing follows unsuccessful attempts to recruit Michael Neser and Jayden Seales. Yusuf, a 27-year-old right-arm bowler and right-handed batter, previously played for Durham in the 2023 County Championship, taking 19 wickets across five matches. He also made his Test debut last summer against Zimbabwe, claiming 10 wickets in two games.
Director of cricket Giles White expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, highlighting Yusuf's excellent reputation and international experience. Despite recent planning adjustments, Hampshire is eager for Yusuf's arrival as they prepare to host Essex at the Utilita Bowl for their opening fixture this Friday.
