Six-time All-Star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was evaluated for a possible concussion after a collision with New York's George Lombard Jr. on Friday night. The incident happened in the sixth inning of the Toronto Blue Jays' 3-1 win against the Yankees.
On a play involving multiple errors, Guerrero advanced to third base. As Lombard Jr. attempted to field a throw, his knee and thigh struck Guerrero's head, dislodging his helmet. Guerrero proceeded to score the tying run but appeared dazed.
Manager John Schneider described Guerrero as having a "little bit of a headache" and called the removal precautionary. Guerrero is currently batting .263 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs.
