Guernsey is preparing to commemorate Liberation Day on May 9th, marking a significant milestone with the 80th anniversary of a cherished running race.
The Liberation 7 Road Race, first held in 1946, will see participants embark on an 11.2km course from Rousse to North Beach.
The day's events in St Peter Port promise a rich tapestry of activities. A dance zone will feature local performances, while an inflatable football pitch will be available on the seafront.
Castle Cornet will host a showcase of music and one-act plays by Guernsey Arts. Additionally, South Esplanade will be lined with stalls offering local crafts and artisan goods.
A dedicated children's zone at Crown Pier will provide entertainment and a chance to meet Royal Golden Guernsey Goats. The traditional parade is scheduled to commence at 09:40 from White Rock, culminating in a grand fireworks display.
