Speaking at the 41st Annual Sports Legends Dinner in New York City on Monday, October 5th, where he was honored as a Great Sports Legend, the former tight end expressed deep gratitude for Kostek's support.

Gronkowski highlighted Kostek's role in his recovery from injuries. He explained that she was instrumental in his rehabilitation process, assisting him when he was immobile and encouraging his daily strengthening. He emphasized that her support was vital, stating, "Without her, you know, I wouldn't have had the career, and all the Super Bowls that I have."

The couple's relationship began in 2013, but they could not make it public until 2015. This was due to a strict rule enforced by the Patriots, which stipulated that players could not date cheerleaders, a regulation that could lead to a cheerleader's dismissal from the team.

Kostek, who was a cheerleader for the Patriots at the time, recalled the necessity of dating "in secret." She noted that this period of privacy in their relationship, spanning their initial two years together, actually fostered a strong bond. She described Gronkowski as her best friend, suggesting that dating "behind closed doors" was a key element to their relationship's success.
