Grêmio's Future: Coach Mano Menezes Awaits Club Decision

Grêmio's coaching position is currently in flux, with Mano Menezes' contract set to expire at the end of December 2025. The club's incoming management, due to assume control on December 8, has stated that a decision regarding Menezes' future will be made only after the team concludes its final two matches of the season. This leaves the current coach in a state of uncertainty regarding his continued tenure.

The new leadership is actively exploring alternative candidates for the technical command. Among the names being considered is Luís Castro, a Portuguese coach previously with Botafogo, who is reportedly open to discussions. While other figures like Tite and Renato Portaluppi have been mentioned, there's no indication of formal contact, and they are not universally favored by the future directors.

Despite the speculation, Mano Menezes has a notable supporter in technical coordinator Luis Felipe Scolari, whose own position is secured until 2026. Scolari has publicly backed the idea of Menezes continuing. Grêmio is scheduled to play Fluminense next and concludes their 2025 campaign against Sport.
