Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Griffin Jax is prepared to contribute to Wednesday's crucial World Series Game 5 against the Milwaukee Brewers. Jax played a vital role in Tuesday's victory, pitching four innings and striking out six batters to prevent elimination. The team now faces another must-win scenario after a grueling 12-inning game that utilized seven pitchers.
Jax, a right-hander, indicated his availability for Game 5, despite it meaning pitching without a day of rest. He highlighted the importance of the team's training staff and his own readiness, stating, "If I can move my arm today, I'll be ready." This offer comes as Drew Rasmussen is slated to start Game 5 on three days' rest, a rarity in his career.
The Rays rallied for two runs in the 12th inning of Tuesday's game to secure their first World Series win at Tropicana Field since 2008, cutting the Brewers' series lead to 3-1. Milwaukee's Jacob Misiorowski is scheduled to pitch in Wednesday's Game 5, which is set to air on Fox.
