Greg Shipperd's tenure as Head Coach for the NSW Blues and Sydney Sixers is concluding at the end of the 2025-26 season, cutting his contract short by one year. Cricket NSW confirmed the decision, with Shipperd set to oversee the team's remaining Sheffield Shield and One-Day Cup matches.
Shipperd expressed his disappointment at not completing his contract, which was scheduled to end after the 2026-27 season. He highlighted the team's promising future and the development of young players. Shipperd's association with Cricket NSW began in 2015 with the Sydney Sixers, leading them to two BBL titles and nine finals in eleven seasons.
He also took charge of the NSW Blues in an interim capacity in November 2022, later being appointed permanently in May 2023. His tenure with the Blues saw them reach the 2023-24 One-Day Cup Final, strengthening the state's high-performance systems. Cricket NSW cited a desire to move in a new direction as the reason for the early departure.
