The Goodyear Blimp, a fixture at major sporting events for over a century, recently marked its 101st anniversary. To celebrate, Goodyear hosted a festival called BANGR at the HANGR inside its historic Wingfoot Lake hangar. This unique event featured live music and even offered flights aboard Wingfoot One.
Since live aerial cameras first captured its presence in 1955, the blimp has provided coverage for more than 2,000 games across professional and collegiate sports, including the Super Bowl, Daytona 500, and the Olympics. Its significance is so profound that it was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2019, the only non-player or coach to receive such an honor.
