8 Apr
Summary
- Ten players from Gonzaga's 2026-27 roster are leaving.
- Rising junior Ismaila Diagne entered the transfer portal.
- Only five players from last year's roster remain eligible.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs will feature a largely new roster for the 2026-27 season, as ten players from the previous squad have departed, either due to ineligibility or entering the transfer portal. The latest departure confirmed is rising junior center Ismaila Diagne, who has entered the transfer portal. This move follows earlier decisions by guards Cade Orness, Emmanuel Innocenti, Braeden Smith, and Steele Venters to enter the portal. The window for players to enter the transfer portal was open from April 7 to April 21.
Diagne's departure marks the first post player to leave, impacting the frontcourt for the upcoming season. Gonzaga's remaining frontcourt options for 2026-27 include redshirt senior Braden Huff, redshirt freshman Parker Jefferson, and incoming freshman Sam Funches. This comes after the graduation of key forwards Graham Ike, Jalen Waley, Tyon Grant-Foster, and Noah Haaland. The limited group of players from last year's roster still with eligibility and not in the portal are Huff, Davis Fogle, Mario Saint-Supery, Jefferson, and walk-on guards Joaquim ArauzMoore and Alonzo Metz.
Diagne, a 7'0 center from Senegal, was a relatively new addition to the Bulldogs. He had a freshman season impacted by injuries, appearing in 10 games with limited minutes. This past season, he played in 28 games, averaging 1.1 points and 2.4 rebounds. Foul trouble was a consistent issue for Diagne throughout the year. He will now seek a new team with two years of eligibility remaining.
