Giants Seek Reinforcements: Linebacker and O-Line Needs Loom Large

With the 2025 NFL regular season fast approaching, the New York Giants' front office is hard at work finalizing the team's 53-man roster. According to a recent report, the Giants have a few pressing needs to address, including the interior offensive line, linebacker, and quarterback positions.

While the report suggests quarterback as a need, the Giants' coaching staff and management appear to disagree, particularly after the impressive preseason performance of rookie Jaxson Dart. The offensive line, on the other hand, has long been a problem area for the team, and it remains to be seen if the current group can provide the necessary protection and run-blocking support.

The more glaring need, however, seems to be at the linebacker position. The Giants' outside linebacker trio of Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brian Burns, and Abdul Carter is considered one of the best in the league, but the inside linebacker group is less settled. Veteran Bobby Okereke and second-year player Micah McFadden are the current starters, but their long-term futures with the team are uncertain.

Okereke's contract situation could force the Giants to explore alternative options at the position, potentially through the draft or by signing a more cost-effective free agent. The team does have Darius Muasau as a potential replacement, but the overall depth and talent at inside linebacker remains a concern heading into the new season.
