Winston Leads Giants to Preseason Victory

Jameis Winston directed the New York Giants to a decisive 26-3 preseason win against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday in Miami Gardens. Winston, the Giants' backup quarterback, completed 15 of 21 passes for 150 yards and added a rushing touchdown, leading his team to victory at Hard Rock Stadium.

Many starters were notably absent from both lineups. The Giants rested several key players including running back Cam Skattebo and wide receiver Malik Nabers. Similarly, the Dolphins opted to sit starting quarterback Malik Willis and running back De'Von Achane, among other defensive starters.

The Giants established early dominance, engineering an 83-yard scoring drive on their opening possession. They extended their lead with two first-half field goals and a touchdown run from Devin Singletary, heading into halftime with a 20-3 advantage. The Giants' control continued throughout the second half, resulting in a total yardage advantage of 390-102.

Backup quarterback Brandon Allen contributed 101 passing yards for the Giants, while Devin Singletary added 40 rushing yards. For the Dolphins, backup quarterback Cam Miller threw for 60 yards and was sacked twice. Kicker Riley Patterson scored Miami's lone points with a 53-yard field goal.

The Dolphins are set to conclude their preseason against the Atlanta Falcons this Friday before opening their regular season against the Las Vegas Raiders on September 13. The Giants will face the New York Jets in their preseason finale and then host the Dallas Cowboys to begin their regular season on September 13.
