Germany Dominates World Show Jumping Championship

Germany's show jumping team, comprised of Sophie Hinners, Daniel Deusser, Marcus Ehning, and Richard Vogel, triumphed at the FEI World Championships in Aachen, securing the gold medal. Their victory was established early and confirmed through consistent high-level performances, setting a new standard in the sport.

The team's journey began with a strong showing in the opening speed class, the Turkish Airlines Prize, where they amassed a low score of 3.48 penalties. This lead was maintained through the Mercedes-Benz-sponsored finale, where Germany added minimal penalties to secure their commanding win.

Germany's gold medal was confirmed after the third rider rotation, a testament to their exceptional form and the pressure they applied to competitors. This dominant display in front of a home crowd underscores their preparedness and skill.

Beyond the team gold, the event served as a qualification pathway for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Germany, alongside Belgium, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, and France, secured their Olympic berths, as did the host nation, the United States.

Marcus Ehning, a seasoned competitor, brought invaluable experience to the German team, having also competed at the Aachen World Championships twenty years prior, where he won team bronze. This victory marks Germany's first World Championships team gold in show jumping since 2010.
