Gerald Wallace: Bobcats' Steal Machine Turned All-Star

Gerald Wallace's NBA career significantly transformed after joining the Charlotte Bobcats during the 2004 expansion draft. Previously with limited minutes on the Sacramento Kings, Wallace thrived with increased opportunity in Charlotte.

During his second season, Wallace led the entire NBA in steals per game, securing a top-10 finish in Defensive Player of the Year voting. His best performance came in the 2009-2010 season, where he was selected to his only All-Star Game. That same year, he was named to the All-Defensive First Team and finished third in the Defensive Player of the Year race.

Over seven seasons with the Bobcats, Wallace averaged 16.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.2 blocks. He was later traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. Across his entire NBA career, Wallace earned three top-10 finishes for Defensive Player of the Year, captured a steals title, and made one All-Star team.
