On August 25th, 2025, Georgia Tech opened its season with a dramatic 27-20 win over Colorado. The hero of the game was quarterback Haynes King, who put on a stellar performance with 156 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground.

The game started off rocky for Georgia Tech, as they turned the ball over on their first three possessions.
