Georgia AD Josh Brooks Rewarded With Extension

Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks has secured a contract extension through 2031, signaling the university's confidence in his leadership. The extension also includes a substantial annual raise of $125,000, bringing his average base salary to $1.75 million. This move comes on the heels of an exceptionally successful period for Georgia athletics under his guidance.

The athletic association's executive committee approved the extended contract, which also features incentives tied to academic performance and overall athletic success, as measured by the Learfield Directors Cup. Brooks, who took the helm in 2021, has overseen a period of unprecedented achievement for the Bulldogs' sports programs.

His tenure has coincided with consecutive SEC football championships for the first time since the early 1980s, and national championships in women's tennis, women's track, and equestrian. Furthermore, Georgia student-athletes achieved a record cumulative GPA of 3.26 in the most recent academic year, underscoring a commitment to both athletic and academic excellence.
