The Boston Red Sox have received a significant boost as ace pitcher Garrett Crochet has been added to their roster for the upcoming Wild Card Series against the New York Yankees. This marks the return of their top hurler, who will be utilized in a relief capacity rather than his traditional starting role. Crochet, a two-time All-Star and former Cy Young contender, had been sidelined since April due to left shoulder inflammation. During his rehabilitation, he sustained a low-grade left lat strain, further extending his absence. He began throwing again in August and progressed to live batting practice sessions in September, indicating his readiness to return. His presence, even from the bullpen, offers valuable depth for the Red Sox as they begin their postseason push against their rivals.
