Former Notre Dame QB to Call NFL Game After Analyst's Arrest

In a last-minute change, former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn will be calling the Indianapolis Colts vs. Las Vegas Raiders NFL game this Sunday. Quinn is replacing analyst Mark Sanchez, who was arrested early Saturday morning in Indianapolis and is currently hospitalized with stab wounds following an alleged altercation.

The 38-year-old Sanchez, who previously played in the NFL for the New York Jets and other teams, was expected to be on the broadcast team for the 1 p.m. game. However, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that Sanchez was arrested on allegations of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication—all misdemeanors.

Quinn, who is 40 years old, was already in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Saturday for Fox's "Big Noon Kickoff" college football pregame show. He will now step in to call the Colts-Raiders matchup on short notice. Quinn was the starting quarterback for Notre Dame from 2003 to 2006, finishing fourth in Heisman Trophy voting in 2005 and third in 2006.

While Quinn never quite reached the same level of stardom in the NFL that he had in college, he has been a fixture on Fox's college football coverage in recent years. Now he'll have the opportunity to showcase his broadcasting skills on the professional level as a last-minute replacement for the injured Sanchez.
