Forge FC kicked off their CONCACAF Champions Cup journey with a resilient 0-0 draw against Mexico's Liga MX side, Los Tigres UANL. The Canadian Premier League club endured a challenging match, being outshot 20-9 and conceding possession for most of the game.
Despite the significant disadvantage in statistics, Forge FC's defense, particularly goalkeeper Dimitry Bertaud, stood firm. Tigres registered eight shots on target and earned numerous corners, but could not find the back of the net.
The first leg saw Tigres dominate possession (72%) and outshoot Forge FC heavily in the first half. Forge FC, however, managed to restrict their opponents and took the game's only yellow card.
