31 Oct
Summary
- Dry ski slope and high ropes to reopen in Folkestone.
- Boonies Outdoors partners with The Sports Trust.
- New adventure and obstacle courses planned for the site.
Outdoor recreational facilities in Folkestone, including a dry ski slope and high rope courses, are set to reopen following their closure in July 2024 when Folkestone Sports Centre ceased operations. The Sports Trust, the centre's owner, has announced a new partnership with Boonies Outdoors, a company specializing in outdoor adventures.
Boonies Outdoors, relocating from Betteshanger Country Park, expressed enthusiasm for revitalizing the ski slope and high ropes. They also intend to develop new outdoor adventure and obstacle course facilities in Folkestone, pending necessary planning permissions. While no reopening date has been set, these outdoor attractions will operate independently of the main sports centre.
