Foligno Brothers Unite for Cancer Research

Brothers Marcus and Nick Foligno have transformed their NHL rivalry into a charitable initiative called the 'Foligno Faceoff,' dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research through the V Foundation. This heartfelt endeavor honors their mother, Janis, who they lost to the disease 16 years ago. The campaign encourages fans to contribute by picking a side, with all donations going directly to cancer research.

As part of the "Foligno Faceoff," donors are entered into a drawing to win a Hockey Fights Cancer jersey signed by both brothers, along with a puck from their respective teams. The brothers announced the initiative with their characteristic wit, even proposing fun consequences for the loser of their friendly competition, such as wearing a branded shirt or holding a public sign to raise awareness.

The brothers' charitable foundation has already committed $110,000 to aid their hometown of Sudbury, Ontario, and anticipates significant further contributions through this "Foligno Faceoff." Despite both players experiencing goal droughts this season, their focus remains on supporting a critical cause and encouraging fan participation in the fight against breast cancer.
