Philadelphia holds an 11-4 advantage over Pittsburgh through the first three games of the series, including a 5-2 victory in Game 3. They have the opportunity to achieve the first sweep in the history of playoff matchups between these two rivals.

Coach Rick Tocchet emphasized the importance of focusing on the present game, stating, "You just got to stay mentally in this game." Defenseman Travis Sanheim echoed this sentiment, stressing the need to treat each game as crucial, regardless of the series lead.

For the Penguins, a win is essential to force a Game 5 and avoid their first sweep since 2019. In an attempt to spark a comeback, Pittsburgh will start rookie goaltender Arturs Silovs, replacing veteran Stuart Skinner. Silovs brings a regular-season record of 19-12-8 with a 3.07 goals-against average and has NHL playoff experience from 2024.

Penguins coach Dan Muse expressed confidence in both goaltenders, clarifying that the decision to start Silovs was not a reflection of Skinner's performance but rather a strategic change.
