Kolkata Knight Riders have made a significant acquisition in Finn Allen, securing the New Zealand batter at his base price of Rs 2 crore during the IPL 2026 auction. Allen is renowned for his aggressive, destructive opening style in white-ball cricket, promising to bring significant firepower to the Knight Riders' top order.

Allen, born in 1999, has established himself as a formidable T20 player with a T20 strike rate frequently exceeding 170. He has a history of explosive performances, including a record-equalling 137 off 62 balls with 16 sixes against Pakistan in 2024 and a league-record 151 off 52 balls in MLC 2025. His fearless approach and exceptional power make him a key asset.

This marks Allen's second stint in the Indian Premier League, having previously played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2021 and 2022.
