On August 13, 2025, the Indiana Fever staged a remarkable comeback to defeat the Connecticut Sun 99-93 in overtime. The Fever trailed by as many as 21 points in the game before mounting a furious rally led by Kelsey Mitchell.
Mitchell scored a career-high tying 38 points, with 34 of those coming in the second half and overtime period. She single-handedly kept the Fever in the game, hitting back-to-back 3-pointers to open the extra session and giving Indiana the lead. Lexie Hull then hit a crucial 3-pointer with 44.9 seconds left in overtime to extend the Fever's advantage to 97-90.
Aliyah Boston also played a key role for Indiana, recording a double-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks. Odyssey Sims and Natasha Howard provided additional scoring support with 19 and 18 points, respectively.
For the Sun, Marina Mabrey scored 27 points and Tina Charles added 21, but it was not enough to hold off the Fever's furious comeback. Rookie Leïla Lacan also had a strong game, dishing out a career-high 14 assists.
The victory improves the Fever's record to 19-16 on the season, while the Sun fall to 6-27. Indiana will look to build on this momentum when they host the Minnesota Lynx on Friday, August 18. The Sun, meanwhile, will travel to Washington to take on the Mystics on Tuesday, August 15.
