The Atlanta Falcons announced on Wednesday morning the signing of veteran quarterback Cooper Rush. This move comes after quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a back injury, necessitating an immediate addition to the team's roster.
Rush, 32, has spent parts of eight seasons in the NFL. His most recent stint was with the Baltimore Ravens in 2025. He initially entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 2017, where he gained recognition for starting 14 games in place of Dak Prescott.
Prior to his professional career, Rush played college football at Central Michigan. During his four years there, he amassed 12,984 passing yards, throwing 90 touchdowns against 55 interceptions. He participated in early training camp workouts on the first day.
