Falcons Boos Echo: Bears Fans Outnumber Home Crowd
19 Oct
Summary
- Bears fans significantly outnumbered Falcons supporters at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
- Atlanta blared music during practices to prepare for crowd noise.
- The Falcons are 0-3 at home, their worst start since 2020.
Chicago Bears fans largely drowned out the home crowd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium during their recent 31-23 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. The presence of Bears supporters was so pronounced that "Let's Go Bears!" chants were audible before kickoff, and cheers erupted for Chicago's defensive stops and Atlanta's turnovers.
To prepare for the unusual home-field environment, the Falcons reportedly practiced with music blaring, a tactic typically reserved for road games. Coach Kevin Stefanski acknowledged the need for silent cadence due to the expected opponent fan presence. This home loss further underscored the Falcons' struggles, marking their first 0-3 start at home since the 2020 season.
