Summary
- Atlanta Falcons fired coach Raheem Morris after failing to make playoffs.
- Ray-Ray McCloud III, ex-Falcons wideout, cryptically tweeted after Morris's dismissal.
- Raheem Morris is reportedly scheduled for an interview with the Tennessee Titans.
The Atlanta Falcons have parted ways with head coach Raheem Morris, effective Monday, January 5, 2026. This decision comes after the team concluded the 2025 NFL season with a disappointing 8-9 record, which ultimately kept them out of the playoffs. Despite a strong divisional performance, the Falcons were edged out by the Carolina Panthers due to tiebreakers.
Shortly after Morris's dismissal, former Falcons wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III shared a cryptic message on social media, leading to speculation about lingering issues. McCloud III's tenure with the Falcons was brief, marked by rumors of disciplinary problems, though Morris had attributed his release to performance.
Meanwhile, Raheem Morris is already a candidate for another head coaching vacancy. Reports surfaced on Monday, January 5, 2026, that the Tennessee Titans have scheduled an interview with Morris later this week. The Titans are seeking a new head coach after dismissing Brian Callahan in October 2025.
