Summary
- Marquez Valdes-Scantling signed with the Steelers practice squad.
- He played six games for the Bills in 2024 with minimal impact.
- Valdes-Scantling was part of two Super Bowl wins with Kansas City.
Wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad, as announced on Tuesday. This move marks Valdes-Scantling's return to the Steelers, for whom he played five games last season, catching 10 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Valdes-Scantling had a brief tenure with the Buffalo Bills in 2024, appearing in six games and tallying just two receptions for 26 yards. This production fell short of expectations compared to his performance with the Kansas City Chiefs. During his two seasons with the Chiefs in 2022 and 2023, he recorded 63 receptions for 1,002 yards and three touchdowns, helping the team secure two Super Bowl titles.
Throughout his nine-year NFL career, Valdes-Scantling has played for multiple teams, including the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Los Angeles Chargers. He was most recently with the Chargers before his release prior to Week 6 of the current season.
The Bills' bye week means they will not directly face Valdes-Scantling and the Steelers in the upcoming regular season. Buffalo is scheduled to play the Baltimore Ravens on November 1st upon their return from their bye.
